Along...



... for the ride...

Came crawling from under the bonnet after we started driving.

I like these lizards. They have a suction mechanism under their feet (you can see it a little bit on this photo), so they can basically crawl anywhere (walls, ceilings, car windshields) and cling on. We used to have them in the house too. They make a cute tjirping sound, like a bird, and are otherwise harmless. Used to, because since Queen Coco arrived, she has made sure she's the only living thing in this house (besides us). Now mind you, that has been great for especially cockroaches: I have not seen one during my stay here. Usually I would bump into one - most of the time quite large - every few weeks or so (they're endemic outside, warm enough there, but sometimes they invade). She kills them before they get a chance to gross me out. Mice also don't stand a chance. But cats don't really differentiate: if it's small and it moves it can be hunted. So sadly the lizards were collateral damage...
