Revenge?
It's a bit of a misnomer I think. But still I immediately knew what was meant by it: Revenge Travelling. I read about it on CNN. I think it's a misnomer because who or what are we 'revenging' exactly? But it's clear: it's the bottled up urge to travel, after the pandemic and lock downs: we desperately want to get out. Airports are overflowing and can't handle it. Everyone wants to fly, be somewhere else... I'm not fully sure why they didn't see it coming...

We did a bit of revenge travelling last week. After the trip to Kuantan, we booked one night in a beach resort on the other side, the west coast. And of course the west coast has sunsets...
Since I'm flying back to The Netherlands in a few weeks, we already arranged for E. to fly over in September (and then most likely to Portugal together), and I'm looking into a nice destination for August.
2022... the year of 'Revenge Travelling'...
I'm done now though with these luxurious resorts. For some reason I'm suddenly a bit fed up with it. Their ridiculous prices and the whole concept of being locked up with no easy escape. It was only a total of three nights this week, but it was enough to trigger this mini-rage. I was never really a 'resort-person', except for the one in Kuantan (because it's the only hotel directly on the beach). But in general just give me a decent hotel in the city and I'll be fine.
Maybe 'Revenge Travelling' works both ways?
